On 13th of September 2025, Prime Minister of India, Shri
Narendra Modi visit Mizoram. He lays a foundation stone and flags off a new
connectivity of Railway on the very day he visits to Mizoram. The new Railway
station from Bhairabi to Sairang is flag off on 13th of Sept. 2025.
Mizoram will now have a three train services and connect in different cities of
India.
Train services Rajdhani Express will now start its services from Mizoram
to New Delhi. Train services Mizoram Express will have its services up to
Guwahati. Train services Kolkatta Mizoram Express will have its services up to
Kolkatta. The Railway Minister of India Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw also said
that, the Rail Bridge in Mizoram is taller than the Qutub Minar at Delhi.
Through the connectivity of New
Railway services Mizoram will have new opportunity of employment for the
youngster and also have new market for the trade. Through the train services,
all the organic products of local such as, Ginger, Fruits etc. will be able to
export and have new market and for that transportation such as cold storage
facilities will be available. Very soon it will connect to Bay of Bengal and
different places.
For the benefits of the consumer and businesses, GST rates have reduced to minimal 5% for the Northeast States. According to the present government, earlier the Northeast was said to be Look East Policy, but at present it is At East Policy. Before 2014, the budget policy for Northeast was only Rs.2000 Cr. but at present it has increase to 5X at Rs.10,000 Cr. There is an undergoing policy of Rs.77,000 Cr. under the scheme name as Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.
Mizoram CM Shri Lalduhoma in his comment thank all the engineer, workers and also pay tributes to those who lost their life and sacrifice in the construction of Railways Tunnel and projects. Today its because of them the construction of Railway construction is accomplished.
PM Modi assured in his speech that, from today Aizawl Railway map will be in the Railway map of India. This assurance boosts the people of Mizoram in the hope of better future.
PM Modi also thank that, it was all because of the spirit and determination of the engineer, workers and all the staff who has made this construction possible during his live speech at Mizoram. He also said that, it is not just a Railway services but it is a lifeline and transformation of the people of Mizoram. Through these services, employment opportunity will boost, tourism and hospitalism will increase. PM Modi said that their approach is much different from others approach. Helicopter services will resume and also very soon Northeast Asia and South East Asia trade and tourism will be boosted. According to PM Modi, Northeast is a major hub for startup. Mizoram is excellency in sport such as football and very soon under the scheme Khelo India, Khel Nitti youth and youngster will have the opportunity to participate and excel their skills in sports.
PM Modi said on his live speech that before 2014 GST rate in Northeast is at 27% but now it has reduced to GST rate at 5% applicable only. The reduced of tax in Northeast will benefits the businesses and consumer as compare to earlier tax slapped.
